Agreed, I like the "C" version better, but my sister got the privilege of naming her.
She eats like crazy. She sits on this food bar while she pecks away at it, taking breaks only to lunge towards the millet spray and eat more. So it's like exercise and nutrition in one activity.
Also, I'm considering getting a canary.
Yeah, blame it on your sister :P It's cool, my tiel has a sort of lame name, but I blame that on me being 11 when I named him. Oh well.
That's cool. She's got the right idea there, exercise and nutrition together, take care of it all at once. My parakeet won't eat anything but seeds yet. She's still kind of new, so I think she'll come along.
I've got one canary right now. I think he's my smallest bird but has the biggest cage, haha. He eats fruit really well, so that's nice. We got him from a lady who couldn't keep him anymore.
I did have one canary that I could hold on my finger, his name was David. And his chica who was dead by the time he learned this, was named Darlene. Yeah, like on Roseanne. I named them when I was 7 or something. After she died, we moved and he shared a cage with my cockatiel but my cockatiel was dominant and mean and picked his feathers.
Would you keep the canary and parakeet in separate cages if you got it, or would they share one? The things are about the same size.

I'd probably keep them in separate cages, due to a horrific childhood memory. I had these two beta fish in the same bowl, with a glass wall in between them to prevent fighting. One day, the blue beta rammed his little self into the glass, it slid, and toppled over on the red one, crushing it.
Plus, Krystal is pretty territorial, but shy at the same time. Sort of curious, but very passive-aggressive. When we let her out, she flies on one of our shoulders, and stays there until she damn well pleases. If you hold out your finger to let her perch herself up on, she'll lightly scrape her beak at it until you take it out of her range.
Also, do canaries eat seeds as well? Because we rarely have fruit available, Or do we have to get special fruits for birds?

Heh, that's funny! My bird does what he wants, when he wants most of the time. He's dominant, territorial, and sometimes aggressive. He is also a bit scared of things which he covers up with the aggressiveness. He'll pick on other birds sometimes and he'll chase my dog. But he's very nice to me and to his reflection. haha. Birds are so silly!!
Yeah, they're great with seeds. An all seed diet isn't that healthy, you're supposed to also give pellets or fruits and veggies or whatever. Except some are poisonous though like grapes, so be careful with that. If I'm having carrots or an apple or something, I'll usually share some with the birds.
