You know, I've always had doubts about owning pets. This story is one of the few things that could potentially convince me otherwise.
Despite his being pretty much one of your best friends, is it a chore to take care of him?
Not at all. He's pretty much the perfect size because my smaller bird crap way too much and bigger birds shoot their huge crap all over the place. He's got a cage and a playpen (pretty much another cage without a roof). I've got to cover and uncover him in the morning and at night. Then I usually read to him, talk to him, eat with him. He's pretty easy to take care of. The only downside is that he has chewed on our walls, chewed up some plants, and chewed up a picture frame. But that was because he can open his own door and so was left unattended because he's a sly little bastard.
