@Squeezeblossom @Sensationalism any idea how this differs from men's and women's prisons? Is that 60% across the board? Are both sides more or less equal? Or does one sex see a far greater incidence of abuse?
It lumps them all together. I have heard mention that it can be worse in female prisons because they can be subject to more invasive body searches and the like, but I didn't do any fact checking or further reading on that, so take it as you will.

This is news to me as well. I assumed sexual abuse came from that side but I did not expect the majority of the abuse to be perpetuated by staff.

I think that's a common misconception and I think if we can spread awareness perhaps they will face more scrutiny.
